Poster

I worked alone in this project again. It was really enjoyable, I'm really interested in web designing and this project is a start to it. Feeling free and preparing something impromptu help us improve our skills. I think this is a beneficial work for learners.

The BBC Project

I really enjoyed this project as listening to an interview of my favorite actor cannot be a something that I don't like. The only problem was voice. I couldn't listen from a good headspeaker so I had to listen again and again. I watch movies in native language and that helped me better understand what was spoken. I learned a few structures and new words. To sum up I'm happy with this project.

Harrison Ford
In this project, I listened John Wilson’s interview with Holywood superstar  Harrison Ford who is my favorite actor. Harrison Ford mentioned his latest movie Extraordinary Measures and the character he played in a very detailed way.
The interview started with a quotation from the movie 'Star Wars' in which Harrison Ford played one of the major characters ‘Han Solo’ as this character is one of the most known role of Mr. Ford .  John Wilson  began to indroduce Harrison Ford by mentioning the movies Mr. Ford participated such as ‘Star Wars’, ‘Indiana Jones Adventures’ and ‘Tom Clancy Thrillers’. After a brief explanation of new movie and a quotation from it, the questions came.
The first question is usually asked to every actor. John Wilson wanted to know what was the motivation of Harrison Ford while taking on that character. Mr. Ford said that the character contained everything in itself. There was conflict, interest, drama and humour as well, this combination was very good for Mr.Ford. Dr.Stonehil,l Mr. Ford’s character was a scientist who worked under pressure with a limited budget and he worked alone also Mr.Ford compares today’s health care system and 6 years ago’s one to make himself clear while identifying the situation of his character. John Wilson interfered and emphasized that Dr. Stonehill was also grumpy like the character ‘Han Solo’. Mr. Ford compared these two characters in a funny way.
Secondly, John Wilson asked to know how Harrison Ford chose roles and if it was important for Mr. Ford to see some personal aspects of himself on those characters. Mr. Ford explained briefly by saying that ‘ At first, I see the character and try to understand the ways of contriving through the character to help tell the story and if I can’t figure out how to do it I don’t apply for the job.
Third question was ‘Are there any roles, films that you wished you had applied but you turned down?’ Mr. Ford said that the only reason of turning down those roles was that he couldn’t figure out how to do it or simply he thought that they were not good and added that he didn’t feel regretted on this issue.
Lastly John Wilson wanted to know whether or not Mr.Ford started his profession as a carpenter in Holywood and he said that he heard something like ‘Harrison Ford worked as a carpenter for George Lucas’ Mr.Ford said that this was not true he started as an actor and then became carpenter because he was not happy about the roles that were offered to him and he needed another way to put food on his plate so he became carpenter. By saying carpenter he actually ment ‘arc director’ and he worked for Francis Coppola as an art director and the time when he was working, George Lucas came in and they began talking about ‘Star Wars’ so he said that all these junks came from this event. He also added that being a carpenter was good as he was doing different things apart from acting and he was learning new things so all these things made Harrison Ford happy.
The interview ended with this question. Harrison Ford was humorous and the interview was really good questions were like impromptu it was like a chat between John Wilson and Mr.Ford.

My personal questions
1- Will we see you in other movies like 'Star Wars' or 'Indiana Jones Adventures' in the near future ?
2- With a big body of experience what can be the suggestions that you can give to young actors ?

Oliver and Pingu

Once upon a time, there were an eagle named Oliver and a penguin named Pingu. They were living in New Zealand. Pingu were swimming in the sea most of the days and playing on the ground, Oliver were flying all the time and exploring new areas. Oliver were making fun of Pingu because of the fact that although Pingu belongs to bird familia he couldn’t fly even a meter long and he was slow on the ground also.
One day while returning from a long trip Oliver settled before Pingu and Pingu said:

-         Hi, Oliver flying looks fantastic can you teach me how to fly ?
-         Hey, You can’t fly like me. Penguins can’t fly, what a lame, isn’t it boring to be on the ground ?
-         Hi, Oliver I’m not bored I can swim and play with my friends underwater.
-         Errr… Underwater is worse than here. Why can’t you fly, aren’t you a bird, you are a lame, you can’t be a bird.
-         You are so rude Oliver. Penguins can’t fly that is true but we have the ability to swim. Each animal has something to do I get my food from underwater. Maybe someday you will need something from underwater how could you get that ?. Please stop making fun of me.
-         Whatever, I have lots of things to do up in the air watch and see how free I am.

After 2 months Oliver was flying again and trying new moves to show off. Suddenly he saw his prey, a sparrow, and rushed to catch it. The sparrow didn’t give up took a pebble from the ground and tried to run away. Oliver was closing the gap. The moment he was ready to leap on the sparrow, the sparrow released the pebble and hit Oliver on his right wing. Oliver started to lose altitude and finally fell into the sea. He couldn’t get out because he didn’t know how to swim. Oliver started screaming to get help. Luckily Pingu was around she heard the screams of Oliver and rushed into the water to save him. After they got out of water Oliver said:
- Thank you Pingu for saving me. Although I made fun of you and your ability to swim you came here and saved me I really thank you.
- I’m glad you are okay. Now do you understand the importance of the abilities we have ? if I could’nt swim you would be drowned here. Please be careful from now on.
- I understand well. From now on I will not make fun of any other animal. Each one of us has unique abilities to live and help each other. Thank you again my friend and have a good day.

Moral: Do not underestimate others, otherwise you would be in need of their help.

Webquests are not so hard. You should be a bit creative to produce a fable like this. It would be beneficial for young learners as they will both engage in telling their own study and using computer and internet to create it. I hope you like the story I told. As I was absent on this week I did the project alone.

Technology is something that indispensable today for everyone. It is used in all areas of our lives, it makes our lives easier day by day, if you remove technology from today’s world there will occur a chaotic world and people even start to fight each other. Technology also develops so fast. Everyday something new is created and something becomes old. Also technology is becoming more and more available for everyone. Besides many advantages, technology is used for education in today’s world. Children now have access to technology at very early ages. They have computers, televisions, cell phones in the very beginning of their lives. This situation grows the need of using technology in education greatly. To cope with this issue schools are now equipped with computers, smart boards, projectors and there is a new trend today, our government is now giving tablet pcs to students with the aim of replacing books and notebooks with a small device that contains all of them. We will see in the following days how this new project will work.
